Long drive to a new course near Basildon and boy was it a tough one! A long, long grassy uphill climb followed by a long run up some steps and then some more steps!
I needed to work on my start and it worked, about 5th or 6th by the first corner, 9th by the end of the first lap and on the wheels of the quick boys, so a great start

. Then disaster

, I blew big time. Now, I haven't really done that before so this was new to me, I guess the lack of riding in the last few weeks due to illness had caught up with me and by the middle of the 2nd lap I was going backwards and seeing stars. Anyway, to spare the details I finished 27th, way down on all those I usually beat but luckily it wasn't the worse points haul of the season and it moved me up in the League due to it being my final counting ride. Hopefully I'll do better next week for my final cross race of the season to get rid of my worst points haul at Hillyfields earlier in the season.
